Scooter’s 4 RBI back another strong performance by C Antworten

ody Reed."The Joe Nuxhall Memorial Honorary Star of the GameIt was hard to choose who would win the JNMHSotG , because there were a couple of great performances, but dammit Scooter Gennett has just been delivering all year. He did it again tonight against the Miami Marlins, accounting for all 4 Reds’ runs on the evening to help lead them to the win. He went 2 for 3 with a 2-run double and a 2-run dinger while also adding a walk, raising his batting average to .318 on the season. Have a trophy, Sooter.Honorable mentions are due to: Cody Reed, who threw 6 shutout innings while walking none and striking out 6 and Eugenio Suarez for collecting 2 hits on the night.Key PlaysThe Reds were scoreless and hitless until the top of the 3rd. Billy Hamilton led off with a walk and then moved to third on a stolen base and a throwing error. Scott Schebler then took a walk to put runners on first and third. After a lineout and a strikeout, Scooter Gennett would come up and smack a double to left to bring in both runners. Reds led Jason Kipnis Jersey , 2-0.Things remained that way until the top of the 7th, when Scooter delivered again. Jose Peraza started things off with a 1-out single to left. After a Joey Votto line out, Scooter would hammer his 23rd dinger of the year to right. The Marlins were able to cut the lead in half in the bottom of the 8th. Miguel Rojas drew a 1-out walk off reliever Jared Hughes. After a Starlin Castro groundout, JT Realmuto would hit a double to left to score Rojas. That would bring up Peter O’Brien, who hit a single to right to bring in Realmuto. Reds led, 4-2.Raisel Iglesias was able to come in the bottom of the 9th and shut the door. Reds win, 4-2.Tony GraphaninoSource: FanGraphsOther NotesAfter striking out 10 batters in his last outing against the Cubs , he backed that up with yet another fantastic outing, striking out 6 batters in 6 shutout innings without walking a single batter. I’m not sure what the plan is for him in the future, especially with his previous history, but it sure seems that he has figured something out for the moment. This, according to MLB Trade Rumors, is the worst.Seriously. The Reds will take their talents to South Beach (or keep them there, I guess) again on Friday night. Luis Castillo will try and continue his strong performance against his former team. He will face off against Wei-Yin Chen Larry Doby Jersey , who apparently plays for the Marlins. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM ET.Tunes.
